Flood’s Worldwide is an evolving collection of my favorite places around the globe — restaurants, cafés, bars, bakeries, hotels, parks, clothing stores, museums, and more.
The list features 5 main categories for each city: Proper Meals, Casual Food, Great Cafés, To Drink, and Everything Else.
I’m using a simple 0-2 star rating system to add a layer of differentiation. Think of it as a recommendation confidence level. Although every spot listed on Flood’s Worldwide is a winner in my book, 1-star indicates it’s one of my favorites. 2-stars are the Major Hits worth going out of your way for.
I’ve also noted any hyped spots that aren’t worth your time and money in the Misses section — knowing what to steer clear of is just as important as knowing what’s good.
Flood’s Worldwide has an accompanying Google Maps list with all the hits for easy access on the move. Currently, there are over 700 places across dozens of cities on Flood’s Worldwide, and more are added with each trip, near and far. I’ll continue sharing a few “Recently Added” spots within my On Draft newsletters, but complete roundups of recent additions will be shared through subsequent Flood’s Worldwide posts.
Flood’s Worldwide is not a guide — it’s a companion. It’s a resource that’ll support your journey, whether it’s New York City, the streets of Berlin, or the alleys of Saigon. Although the list covers serious ground, it’s not meant to be comprehensive. I’m not claiming to know each of these cities inside and out — there’s always more to discover. But whether my stay was long or short, if I have a great hit to share, it’s included here.
Every spot on this list shares one common characteristic: it’s a place that made me feel great. I’m confident these spots will have the same effect on you.
Travel well.
